He has a funny target box – it can be difficult to get into position to talk to him. Don’t forget to look up – he flies higher than any other mob in the area. Possibly the easiest way to find him is to fly high above the fortress gates and “/tar Nelthar” – then put a raid icon on him. Neltharaku flies a patrol from about the middle of the fields, over and around Dragonmaw Fortress. Then, move to a new location (a fed drake won’t come back down for a second meal, so you need to move within range of a new drake) and place the next carcass. Stand still nearby until you see your quest credit. Place a carcass on the ground, and wait for the nether drakes to come to the ground and feed. In the area where Mordenai patrols, kill Rocknail Flayers to collect 8 carcasses. His quest starts the Ally of the Netherwing quest chain. Mordenai patrols just west of the entrance to the pass. Just east of the Sanctum, there is an open field bounded by the Sanctum on the west, Dragonmaw Fortress on the east, and the pass south to the Altar of Shadows. If you are a Scryer, your journey is made simpler by the fact that your quest-starting NPC wanders an area very near to your flight path at Sanctum of the Stars. When you have met the prerequisites, travel to Shadowmoon Valley. You must have a flying mount to reach some quest locations. To acquire and complete the intro quest chain, you will need to be level 70, and have basic flight.

Over 100 mounts later, Zoya is still my favorite mount. That day, it became my mission in Azerothian life to obtain what was then the only dragon mount around – which I later learned was called a nether drake. One day, as things started to heat up in Halaa, I looked up at a mighty level 70 flying in to help – and saw the mount of my dreams. With the release of burning Crusade, the talbuks became my new goal and I spent a lot of time in Nagrand. Our items keep the races interesting, and help even the score if one player has more experience than another.Early in my Azerothian life, when my Tauren was allowed to ride only wolves, kodos, and one horse (which Rivendare never did hand over, after well over 100 Strath runs), I developed a fascination with mounts.
